Hi Captain Carrot,

Dorset Knobs are a locally produced round savoury biscuit that is an accompaniment for cheese manufactured by Moores Biscuits in Morecombelake in Dorset.

Here is their website....

http://www.moores-biscuits.co.uk/

With regards to Knob throwing that is held over the May Bank Holiday in the village of Cattistock where they have a local produce market and various Knob related games for example..
Paint a Knob, Guess the Weight of the Large Knob, Knob and Spoon race plus many more.

For full information visit the link here...

http://www.dorsetknobthrowing.com/

I hope this answers your questions and No it is in no way smutty at all !!

Regards
Robert.

I think Sootica is referring to the biscuit eaten with cheese,

Just to be a git, it's not a crossbow it's a horse bow: They where traditionally shot from horseback, I'm a pretty good shot, but I've not tried it while horse riding...yet
